They are not as high-profile as the WGA, but I would like to bring everyone's attention to the imminent strike action by thousands of hotel workers in Los Angeles. They are set to go on strike tomorrow, July 1st, 2023.

More than 15,000 hotel workers are seeking higher pay, better benefits, and working conditions. This includes an across-the-board $5 an hour raise, as well as affordable healthcare and better pensions. They also are seeking a ban on the use of E-Verify, which is used to deny employment to undocumented workers and workers involved with the criminal justice system. I ask again, what is the purpose of school resource officers other than to instill discomfort in the student body? Other than to brutalize and single out select “problem” students at random, often marginalized ones? There was not one single time during my academic career when I was glad there was a school resource officer in the school. It was a teacher who disarmed a student at my school. Every time there was a violent brawl, it was a teacher who inserted themselves in the middle to stop it. It is teachers who put themselves in front of gunmen to protect their students while the coward cop sticks his thumb in his ass in the parking lot.

I'm not pro-death or killing in any way but the world would be a better place if every single conservative supreme court justice died right now.

I'd prefer all of them realizing the error of their ways and resigning to make way for better judges. But I think six synchronized heart attacks is more likely.

All three cases were ruled 6-3 on ideological (6 conservatives against 3 liberals)

All three cases were also brought forward by astroturf Republican-funded groups and were based on shoddy evidence and meritless legal arguments.

It's a case of blatant corruption and a massive miscarriage of justice.
